2000 Census information on same-sex couples, urban and rural

On October 2002, the U.S. Census released the data for the same-sex couples that live in urban and rural areas.

Here's the Federal definition of an urban area.

Despite the rhetoric by some conservative think-tanks, a comparable proportion of same-sex couples live in rural areas. This population of same-sex couples is usually more female than male.
